Thankful Thursday - 179

Let's see if I can come up with something original this week. I am thankful for...

1. Personalities. As I've mentioned before, David and I have completely opposite personality types. It's so fun to see Dominic and Emilia start to develop their own little personalities, too. Will they be just like one of us? Will they be a balance between the two? Will they be something totally different? So far Dom is cautious, gentle (for a toddler) and introverted. Emilia seems to thrive in bigger crowds, and she is SUCH a little adventurous monkey. She will be 1 next week!

She is also so. so. stubborn. Please, someone tell me what to do with a strong-willed almost-1-year-old. She will tantrum until she almost pukes if, for example, I'm holding Dom but she wants to be held by me and only me

Before anyone panics... No, he is not strapped into his car seat here!

2. Warm May weather. This week has me reflecting on last year when I was HEAVILY pregnant and walking around trying to get this baby out. We had very similar weather then, too. Warm and sunny!

All of the outside playtime!

What could be cuter than a baby wearing summer clothes?

Today is not so warm, but we did make a trip to the park this morning. Emilia's first time at the play ground. We go for LOTS of walks, but we almost always have the dog with us, so we rarely stop to play. Picture overload, sorry not sorry!

Dom wasn't even walking at this age, and she climbed the slide basically on her own (I provided some grip for her feet), and climbed up and down on the bench inside the playground. She's crazy.

And under apparently. Dom loves watching her. She's for sure going to be the ring-leader with their future shenanigans.

You'll notice Dom is wearing flip flops with sweatpants. He REFUSED to wear his runners. Katrina passed these flip flops down from Henry, and the other day I went to put them on Dom and he refused until I told him they were Henry's old shoes. Now they're all he wants to wear haha.

Driving the playground is very serious business.

3. A functional space. The basement is slowly becoming much more usable space for our family. I'm looking forward to sitting on the downstairs patio and having the kids go in and out at their will without having to worry! (Hint David, this is my vision haha).

Who wants a Lazboy leather couch?!?!
Showing Dom "Dth Buhburh"

4. A good laugh. I bought some heart-shaped balloons for Emilia's party this weekend and took one out to see and Dave just looked and said, "That... is for a 1 year old's party?!" HAHAHA!!! We blew it up and it did look like a heart, but then when it deflated it looked even worse!

Maybe we're just immature, but we thought it was hilarious.

5. Scott & Ashleigh got a place! This in itself is exciting, but they're renting a basement suite in our neighborhood! It's less than a 15 minute walk away, and happens to fall right on the route of one of our regular walks. They took possession yesterday, and Scott will probably move in there in June. Now they won't have to worry about who's driving home from our place after games night this summer :)!
