The Latest - HOT HOT HOT!

It has been so so hot lately. We have one AC unit in our house, and it's in Emilia's bedroom because she sleeps a lot during the day, and is in a sleep sack the whole time so she will over-heat otherwise. We try to keep cool by playing with water and sitting in front of the fan, but mostly it's just a sweaty household.

On Thursday morning I went over to Katrina's, where Henry & Dom had a little concert/band together which was stinking cute. Dom loves Henry and copies everything he does, so that included the guitar this week.

After our fun morning, he was passed right out. I let him nap an extra half hour before going in to wake him up. This proved to be a challenge.

Good morning sunshine!

Thursday evening we went to Ed & Michelle's for dinner. Dominic and their dog Sadie were two peas in a pod. They were the perfect energy for each other, and having Sadie there to greet Dom totally brought him out of his shell much quicker than usual. Emilia was also a perfect angel, laying on the couch happily and quietly while we ate, and then being passed around from person to person without a peep. I didn't take any really great pictures unfortunately...

Konked out on the way home.

Friday and most of Saturday it was hot, so we didn't do much, except clean and organize the pantry!! Saturday evening Adam, Aly, Scott & Ashleigh came over and we had dinner together and played some games on the patio. Super fun evening!!

He's not quite sure what to make of this

Clean (and very bare) pantry!

Playing "Bang"

FINALLY I'm the Sheriff. I'm always an outlaw!

Sunday we got together at David's parents' place again for dinner. Rebecca and Emilia were finally awake at the same time, so we snapped a quick picture before we had to leave! I can't wait to see these kids grow up together.

Super sleepy newborn snuggles! This phase goes SO fast. When you're in it with your own baby though it seems to take forever.

I thought Emilia was so small still until I saw these two side by size. Rebecca is about 9.5 weeks younger than Emilia. Crazy!

These two love each other <3

Thankful Thursday - 142

This week I am thankful for... a way to unload my photos!! But in all seriousness...

1. Family dinner at Gramma & Grandpa's. There are now 3 grandkids in the family, plus the 8 adults. This makes for a big group at family dinners!
First cousin photo!

Gramma & Grandpa picked up a sandbox for Dom and he spent basically the whole evening there. Sitting on the stone outside the box just pouring the sand around.

Little Rebecca sleeping so soundly. I have yet to see her awake

Auntie Allana hanging out with one niece and her nephew.

I passed down some of my Newborn clothes to Rachel for Rebecca to wear. I love seeing them in their matching outfits!

2. David taking Dom on grocery shopping adventures. Sometimes during the day if Dave has time he will take Dom out to give me some time to get stuff done. He documented their trip to the grocery store this week. I love that he lets Dom wander and explore. I don't have the patience for that when I'm shopping!

3. The kidlets. They're exhausting, but I love them and have some pictures I want to have on the blog, but no other reason to post them haha.

This picture looked cuter on my phone. I didn't notice how dopey Em looks haha.

This makes up for her dopiness in the above photo :D
It is so hard to get a cute picture of her smile. She smiles with her whole body and wrinkles her nose up and it's awesome, but it's just not cute in a still shot haha!

A rare photo of a parent with one of the kids

Let's Avocuddle <3

Rough-housing before bed. That's what Dads are for right?

4. Beach day with Oma. I wrote a blog specifically about this here.

5. The full Dominic treatment.

Buntzen Lake - Beach Day

My mom and I took the kids to Bunzten Lake this morning for some time at the beach. We were out of the house by 850 and arrived at the beach around 930. It's a bit of the drive, but the kids were both pretty good!

Dominic is typically scared of water, but he actually waded in ON HIS OWN up to his knees and enjoyed it. Big win. I think it helps that the water is warmish and super clear so he can still see his toes.

He dug in the sand and splashed around in the water for a while, and then came up to our table to have a snack (which actually ended up being his lunch). He spent a lot of time pointing out the animals around us. We saw ducks, a squirrel/chipmunk thing and LOTS of crows. Dom pointed to every crow and flapped his arms.

Emilia, my usual angel child, had a bit of a screaming fit while we were there. This is VERY not like her. It's only happened once before that I can remember, and it was after I had chili for dinner. Oh.. shoot.. I realized I had chili last night for dinner too. NUTS!! It's so delicious, but I guess I can't eat that anymore :(. I threw her in the wrap and she fell asleep until we got home. Phew!
This bout of screaming/crying was reminiscent. It reminded me of almost every day with Dominic at this age. How did we do it?! I could hardly handle 10 minutes of it today with Em. It's so sad to see them in pain.

We live in such a beautiful province. I haven't been out to enjoy it much, but I'm determined to do more adventurous things this summer and so far I haven't regretted it!

Look how clear the water is! Dominic was watching some other kids play and pointing out some boats. All very exciting.

Throwing some sand

Oma didn't forget to pack the trucks!

Little miss Yaya. Pre screaming fit. She's so pretty <3

Hanging out with Oma

Dominic LOVES playing with cars - in particular, trucks and tractors

I often feel silly packing this wrap along with me everywhere I go, but boy did it ever come in handy today! You never know when baby might be fussy or just need a nap! Never fails. I highly recommend the Beluga Baby wrap for this age. We have an Ergo 360 as well and love that, but we prefer that for a bigger baby and for longer walks.

Goodbye beach. Until next time!
