Summery Fun Weekend!

It is so nice to be off work this summer. The weather has been amazing. Yes, it's hot, but I don't like to complain. The sun is good for my soul.

During the day on Friday David was pretty busy, so I spent some time playing with Dom. We played outside, and I made him a "Pom Pom Race" inside.

Friday evening Scott & Ashleigh came over for some games and drinks. We tried out some blue wine from Naked Grape. As a wine it was pretty awful, but if you drink it as a summer cooler it's quite yummy! It tasted like blue Koolaid.

Saturday morning Jeff, Marta and Adam were on their way to Penticton for a triathlon. They stopped at our house, as did my parents, and we all enjoyed a delicious waffle breakfast together.

There is no such thing as a candid photo of Jeff.

That afternoon we went to Ashleigh's house and played in their yard, swam in their pool, and ate yummy burgers! The kids were super done afterwards, but both slept like champs after being outside most of the afternoon. Dominic did NOT like the pool, but he ran around the yard kicking the socker ball for a while.

He insisted we sweep the deck

Sunday morning we went to church, and then had David's family over for brunch. At 3:30pm Amy was being baptized at Crescent Beach. It was the most beautiful afternoon for the beach and Dominic had a BLAST! I thought he'd be whiny and clingy, as he usually is in new environments/situations. Once he saw kids digging with shovels and buckets he was off. He wandered around and played in the muck, but managed to keep his clothes mostly clean (woo hoo!) We came home, got the kids to bed (Emilia was a challenge. It's so hard going out with her because she won't sleep when we're out (FOMO) and then she gets really overtired and screams), and then ordered sushi for us.

I never thought he'd let me this far away, but he had zero concerns about being left to dig in the mud.

Playing "with" Eli. Eli is 3 months older than Dom, but Dom is such a giant...

20 minut power nap until some kid yelled right in front of her.

Eli loves Emilia. He was trying to share his pretzel with her, but she was sleeping.

I was so proud to see him playing on his own and with/by other kids! He even shared!!

Sunned out selfie with the baptized Amy!

David took some pictures on his real camera too!

We joined up for a little prayer and Amy's testimony before venturing out to the water.

The big moment! So cool! David was actually baptized here back in... 2011? 2013? I don't remember which year (d'oh!)

Beach hunk on duty!

We are exhausted, but every day it seems there is something that comes up. Lots of fun!
