Early December

The first week of December is spent prepping for the Christmas season!

On Thursday evening we helped Oma decorate her apartment for Christmas. Looking at her apartment from down in the parking lot we could see all the colourful lights on her balcony around the door and the railing. Hopefully everyone else notices too!

What a dork. Haha! <3

We all got off work a little early on Friday to try beat the rain and cut down our Christmas tree at Country Noble Christmas Tree farm. It ended up being a gorgeous afternoon, and the dogs ran wild through the trees.

We found our tree!

Sherlock helping(?) with the lights. He mostly tries to eat the tree. Not very helpful...

After we got everything all set up we had David's parents over for some wine and cheese and to show off our tree!

Yummy leftovers from the Wine Tasting night

We have never bought a star or anything for our tree, and typically we have Santa repelling from the ceiling. We haven't found fishing wire to do this yet, so at this point Santa is awkwardly sitting/hanging at the top of the tree! I think he looks cute.

How perfect is this? I love Christmas time...

Saturday morning we ran some errands and did some chores around the house. In the afternoon we went to Allana's agility trial to watch a run. I'm always impressed with how fast her and Fynn are!

In the evening, David had a friend over, and I went to a girl's night at Kirsten's house. Kerriann, Elissa, Kirsten, her friend Katie and I had a great time. Something about Kirsten's story-telling gets us all belly laughing every time. It's a great work out!

PC (Prince Charming) cuddles!

We played some cranium near the end of the night. Not the competitive way though, just one at a time, performing or drawing for the other girls to guess.

Sunday morning David and I taught the Grade 1-3 group Sunday School. After church, there was a soup & buns lunch. We hung around and socialized for a while before heading off to brunch at David's parents house. After our French Toast, Shelley & Rachel were doing some baking. I was asked to make a batch of homemade Baileys for us to enjoy over the holidays! Delicious!!

Baileys:
1 cup rum/whiskey
1 can condensed milk
1 cup milk
1 tsp instant coffee
3 eggs
1 tbsp chocolate syrup

Blend all ingredients together and serve chilled and/or over ice.

Yummy afternoon treat!

I wanted to show off our Christmas tree to my parents as well, so we had them over for dinner on Sunday evening. I made a pot of Ham & Potato Soup, which fed four of us dinner and gave me 5 leftover lunch meals! Love leftovers!

Sherlock, what is going on with your legs?!

I can't wait for the rest of December and all the wonderful things that go along with the holidays!
