Thankful Thursday - 193

This week I am thankful for...

1. Vancouver Date. It was Adam's birthday on Tuesday, so we met up with him, Jeff and Marta in Vancouver for dinner at Via Tevere Pizzeria. SO YUMMY, first of all. Authentic Italian pizza, made in front of you and cooked in a big fire oven thing (technical terms are not coming to me). We decided to go right after nap time so as to make the most of the afternoon. We met Adam at his work and got a tour of his under-construction office at Aspect Engineering. He still had about an hour before he was done work, so we walked 5 minutes to the park beside Olympic Village. They have a great playground/sandbox there, so we sat in the shade and let the kids play before heading back. From there we headed to pizza and then home for bed!

2. Mom Date! Some of my mom friends and I went out for drinks last night. Without kids... It is so rare that we get to talk without the constant interruptions! A couple of the husbands call us the "Chickalettas". Haha i'll take it.

3. Beautiful wedding day! Scott and Ashleigh were married last weekend and I had such a fun day and night. Their joy was contagious and we all partied all night! Tomorrow Dave and I are going to another wedding for his friend Brad, but this time we're just guests. Looking forward to a more leisurely way to celebrate a marriage :)

4. Steps towards potty training. Dom has started telling us when he's peeing, and talking a lot about the potty. He still refuses to use it, but Emilia has also started asking to go on it lately, which will probably push him to be interested again. He has his big boy bed, big boy car seat, and we just put him in pull-ups, which he calls his big boy underwear diapers, so the next step has to be potty. I have a feeling they'll both be potty-trained around the same time. Going to be so strange having a break from diaper changes; it'll just change to stress about being near a bathroom at all times haha!

5. Overwhelming support and encouragement.  I started this lettering thing like two months ago or so. The other day was International Lefty Day, so I posted a video of my unique style of lettering. It was shared by a huge lettering page that has 109K followers, and I've gotten quite a few messages and comments of encouragement from that. It's not about the followers and likes, but it sure is nice to receive reinforcement. Instagram is so weird.
