GLOW 2018

This past Monday my mom texted me in the afternoon to say her and Oma D were going to Glow and wanted to invite us with the kids.
YES! Anything to get me out of this house of cooped up, grumpy babies and toddlers. Also I figured the kids would enjoy it! I was right!

We walked all through the lights area first and when we got to the tubes Dom decided it was safe enough to get out of the stroller and never looked back. He's always a little slow to warm up and be comfortable in new places/situations, but there was so much for toddlers to do there.

Oma D (Bo Bo Moma as Dom calls her) was born in the Netherlands, so we spent a little extra time in that light area, trying out some warm stroopwafels, sitting in the wooden shoes and sitting along the canal for a snack (this was Dom's idea).

After we walked through all the countries, we went back to the market side and found a picnic table and got some (stupidly over-priced) pizza. There was a live band who played well, but they were much too loud. Behind the stage was the toddler farm with all these little bouncy animals. Dom wasn't so keen on bouncing, but he did love carrying them around.

Before we left I noticed there was a little free train ride. We waited less than 10 minutes to get on and it does 3 little loops around the "track". Dom loves "choos", but he's never been on one so it was definitely worth it. He may or may not have had a little tantrum when our turn was over and we had to get off. "NO! TOO CHOO!" (No! More train!).

Then alas it was time to go home and get the kids to bed! So glad we did this. It had the kids out past bedtime, but it was a much more enjoyable way to spend the afternoon than the alternative... trying to get to bed time at home with two grumpy little ones! I remember last year at Glow thinking how I couldn't wait to bring Dom to see the lights. It was even better this year I think as there was more to do and much more geared towards kids (or maybe I just noticed the tot activities this year).

There are SO many pictures from Glow. David took his newish camera and we all have phones. It's hard to pick through them, so I apologize for the overload.

There are very few pictures with David in them as he was taking most of the photos, however here is most of our entourage!

I carried her for a while, but am so grateful I brought the Ergo 360 along!

Little Dutch girl in a little Dutch shoe!

Dave, maybe we need to photoshop this one a little.... snack cup, strangers... you know :)

Oma admiring her favorite flowers

A half decent attempt at a family photo! Haha

David was crouching down to take a photo and Dom ran over and crouched down right beside him. Like father like son <3

Emilia willing some of my stroopwafel into her mouth

Dom asked to go up into this chair and then "demanded" both the Omas sit down with him.

He shared some of his snacks with Bo Bo Moma, but only gave her his favorites.

The reaction you expect from a toddler

Dom spent some time with David running and jumping on these colorful pads.

Time for lunch. Dom watching the tar (guitar). He's not smiling in many of these photos, but I swear he had fun! He was (apparently) starting to come down with some sort of chest cold. Today he is completely out for the count.

Someone is happy we stopped for some food!

Glad he's playing with the car mat... we have one in the closet to gift to him at some point :)

And on to Dom's favorite part... CHOO!!

Fly by family photo!

Thank you Mom (Moma) & Oma, (Bo Bo Moma) for bringing us along!
Oma D, Dom still randomly talks about you (Bo Bo Moma) and how we had PIE at your house that one time!
