Eva - 18 Months

My last monthly update for one of my babies... ever! Hard to believe, but very at peace with that :)

Weight: 28.8 lb (97th percentile)
Height: 34.5 inches (off the charts) - she is as tall as Emilia when she turned 2, and nearly as tall as Dom at 2... already!

Notes:
  • Mostly size 3T clothing now. Size 5 diapers. Size 6-7 shoes.
  • She has all 4 of her molars and we are just waiting for/working on the incisors now.
  • She hit the 18 month sleep regression early, but is now through it. Hallelujah!
  • Sings "row row row your boat" when she sees a boat and "Baby Beluga" frequently.
  • Still the most social child in our house. We went to tot romp and she didn't cling to me at. all.
  • Has started going forwards on ride-on toys now.
  • Doesn't mind getting her face wet at all.
  • I have just cut out the morning bottle this week. She misses it and asks for it, but I offer her milk in her cup with breakfast instead. Hopefully she'll take to that soon.
  • She's becoming a pickier eater now and will randomly decide she doesn't like something. She's not upset about it, but will just not eat or will toss it on the floor saying "no no no"
  • She's still an excellent communicator using her words. We go away to Mexico in a few weeks and she's staying with Gramma and Grandpa for a few days and then with my parents. I'll have to write some sort of cheat sheet for what she means when she says, "omenee" for example haha.
  • No sense trying to write all her words or animal sounds, but here are some new and/or frequent ones to highlight:
    • airplane/wheel (wee-oh), backpack (bakpuh), highchair (hi schee), open it (omenee), oh dear (oh dee), marker/pen (pee. like please), Minnie Mouse (manny muh), book (booky), sock (yockey), ROLE CALL! (OHL DAL!), milk (muhky), railing (wayol), big step (biiii tep), owl (awul), snack (nacky), hungry (unnwee), blocks (bocky)
    • Scared of the big halloween skeletons in our neighbourhood. "By Spooky Guys!" is "bye koopooky!"
    • Always yelling off the deck to her friends. Wren (WRAAAAAA), Matteo (TEEEEOOOOOO), Savona (MONAAAAAA). Her voice is so throaty when she yells too.
  • All ready to be an owl for her first Halloween trick or treating. THE owl. I'm excited!
  • We have these little red glass beads and I often let her play with them sensory bucket style. She shoves her hand in the bucket, puts them in an egg carton, etc. Keeps her busy for a good 15-20 minutes usually.
  • She's afraid of bees since she got stung recently so if she sees a bee or a fly she waves her hand and starts singing. I taught her "shoo fly, don't bother me." Seems to work.
  • She loves playing megablocks.
  • Sings "clean up" (nee na) when it's time to clean up our toys
  • She calls Dom man, and Emilia Yaya.
  • Every time we drive past a townhome complex with the 2 story homes and side-by-side garages she says, "Opa!"

We love you, crazy girl! <3
