Height: 30 inches (92 percentile) - taller than Dom at 12 months!
Notes:
- Just transitioning her into 18 and 18-24 month clothing. These are the clothes Emilia was wearing when she was twice her age haha. Size 4 diapers, but sometimes wears size 5 too.
- I don't know what size shoes she wears, as she has the "tall" (fat) feet that Dom did. She doesn't fit many shoes.
- She has 6 teeth. 4 up top and 2 on the bottom.
- She had her first stomach flu. It was gross. Actual vomiting only lasted 6 hours or so, but her intestines were upset for many days after that and every hour there was a blowout diaper (until we upsized to size 5 diapers for a bit).
- She's starting to get words/communication more. She says "hi" and waves, says "bye (gai) and waves, uh oh, tries to say "puppy" (buhpaba), and I swear she says "Hi daddy" (hi dadadada) to Dave.
- Makes car noises when playing with cars.
- Her eyes seem less blue and a bit more like Dom's. I think they'll be a lot alike.
- When "Into the Unknown" comes on the speaker, she immediately starts vocalizing and singing. Once the chorus comes she just sings this long note.
- Loves "The Next Episode" by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre... and "If You're Happy and You Know it" still. We have balance around here.
- She has better rhythm and control of her body when dancing than I do already.
- Loves repetitive games like peekaboo or repeating any sound, face or action that gets a reaction.
- She can walk, but usually chooses not to.
- She thinks she's the best and loves being the center of attention - much more so when the big kids aren't there though. When Dom and Emilia are with us, she sort of fades into the background a bit. Hard to compete with their energy.
- She is still an excellent eater, though as finally figured out that throwing your food on the floor seems like a good way to say she's done.
- She signs more and all done, but we're working on some others like thank you, water and milk.
- She's getting pretty good with independent play and gets into a zone. Nice that she doesn't require as much of my energy that way right now.
- She's got a bit of a cold right now, and it's tough at night when she can't suck her thumb because she's all stuffed up. She just cries (though usually not for more than a minute or two). She doesn't have a comfort item she's attached to, so her one source of comfort is taken from her and it's quite sad.
- She had her first pigtails/ponytail this month. She's not very dainty and I think it looks funny, but cute anyway.
- I just pulled out some of Emilia's clothes from when she was a 18 months-2 years. All dresses and sparkles and girly things. Loving it!
- I'll start transitioning from formula to whole milk this month. Looking forward to not having to buy formula anymore. Yeesh $$$
- She finally started snuggling me! Not for long, but she'll flop onto me and rest her head on my shoulder. Only been waiting 11 months for this!
- She's very ticklish
- Loves her little shapes and bucket toy. Bouncing the shapes around, taking them out, putting them in. Riveting stuff.
