Lafarge Lake

Yesterday we made a relatively impromptu trip to Lafarge Lake with my parents to see the light display. We left the house at 3:30 to pick them up, and were at Lafarge Lake by 4:15. The "light display" officially starts at 4:30, so we figured it would be a good idea to be a little early. We were right! We got prime parking and the path wasn't too crowded. Having the double stroller and one or two toddling toddlers didn't feel like much of an inconvenience to the other walkers.

The weather couldn't have been more perfect. It was cold, but not too cold, and dry (this is key). We definitely bundled everyone up, and there were no complaints the whole way around. The loop is about 1.2 km and there are light displays set up in the trees and along the water. It's all free, so it was a really nice way to spend an afternoon/evening.

The actual walking took us less than an hour, and then we got back in the van and went to Me N Ed's for dinner! Dom loved watching the pizzas being made, and Emilia loved feeling like a big girl sitting in the booth with no high chair, and drinking her water out of a big cup. Dom devoured 2 and a half pieces of pizza, Emilia ate two and a half bites.

We were home in time to get the kids to bed, and had a nice relaxing evening with the two of us! Perfection :)

Dave's face says it all haha! Dom didn't want to be a part of our family photo.

Oma took some nice photos, but forgot to get in some!

Oh there's Oma in the background haha!

A million pictures of Emilia holding mine and Opa's hands haha. She's so tiny!

Love this!

The kids were a little young to appreciate the lights and stuff, but I love that the loop wasn't too long. It was really the perfect length. Emilia walked over half the way, hopping back in the stroller for a snack. Dom was in and out, but it worked out really well.

I'd definitely go again if it's not raining... and if we can get there early to get parking!
