Holy Cow it's been 3 weeks!

Oh goodness I haven't posted in almost 3 weeks! Okay I'll split it up into two sections. Pre-cabin, and cabin!

First off, pre-cabin! My last post was June 30th. So here's a catch-up since then.

June 30th Mom & Dad took all 3 kids overnight for us and we were able to have a wonderful date night! First we went to Cactus Club for dinner, and then off to Raving Gamer Bistro in Langley where we met up with Scott & Ashleigh. We shared two pitchers of beer and some fries and played some game called... Tokyo Highway? Could be totally wrong there. Also, who orders a pitcher of IPA and a pitcher of Porter? Whew... that was a good time haha.

After Raving Gamer we made a trip to Farm Country Brewing and had a flight of beer together where we asked them to be our childrens' godparents! We told them not to answer right away and think about it, but at the cabin they told us it was hardly a discussion and of course! <3

The kids had lots of fun at Opa & Oma's, though Dom & Emilia did not get much sleep. Dom's been keeping her up a lot lately. Stinker. They had pancakes, watched a movie, Opa took Dom & Emilia to Bobo Moma's for a Canada Day parade, and then they met us at Jeff & Marta's for a Canada Day BBQ! I could have sworn there was at least one or two pictures from that, but I cannot find them. Oh well. It was a great time as always!

Someone must have been tired. Fell asleep on the 10 minute drive to Jeff & Marta's

We got some new (to us) toys in the house so the next few days were filled with lots of independent play by the kids! We also set up a tent a neighbour gave us to see if it would work for our family for camping this summer. It's ginormous! The next few days were just business as usual.

Thank you Mission Thrift Store!

Interesting way to sleep, Wheelia

On July 5, Ashleigh texted in the morning and asked if I wanted to take the kids swimming with her and Scott. Out of my comfort zone, but I did it, and it went great! Technically it's supposed to be a 1:1 ratio with the kids, but we had a 4:5 ratio so that's good enough right? It worked out! We stopped at the playground next door for a quick play before heading home.

In the afternoon we went out to Rachel & Kyle's for Grandpa's birthday party. We hardly saw the big kids, and Eva played happily in the water table, playground, play house, etc. As we were getting ready to pack up, the kids remembered there was a pool in the front yard. We brought their jammies, so the kids just jumped in the pool and made some memories with all their clothes on! A quick break for cake and straight back to the pool! Love it.

The next couple days were packing, work, packing, work, PMS, packing, prepping, trying not to lose it... Good stuff! Because on Friday July 8 we packed up the family and went to the cabin!

Wren says, "I'm going to miss you guys!"
