Eva - TWO YEARS OLD!!

Miss Eva is 2 years old now! Unless you ask her... then she's 19.

I had some feelings the day before her birthday when I foolishly decided to go through old clothes and turn over her wardrobe into Emilia's 3-4T stuff. Feeling good about her being our last baby, but wow... we're officially really really done the baby stage!

We love you our spunky girl! <3

Say cheese!

Weight:
30.2lb (95 percentile)
Height: 36.5 inches (97+ percentile)
Maybe Dave will have his basketball star after all!

Notes:
  • Size 3T-4T clothing depending on style/brand and item. Once we're done this box of 5's we'll move up to size 6 diapers. Size 7 shoes.
  • She has all her teeth and definitely has my overbite. Sorry babe... we'll start a savings account for your inevitable orthodontic treatments haha.
  • Sings the ABC's... "A B C D E-va Z". (Just kidding. This evening she went almost the whole way through the alphabet. That escalated quickly!
  • Counts to 7 pretty well, sometimes 10, but always 5 haha.
  • Her language is really excellent and expanding every day. She speaks sentences. Here are some of my favorite communications:
    • She scoffs at us. "Daddy Come?" me: "No, Daddy is sleeping!" Eva: "Pfffffft"
    • "Oh Phooey" any time something doesn't go her way or she's disappointed
    • If we're calling her or trying to get her attention, "Hey Eva," she responds with, "Yes dear?"
    • I love how she sings twinkle twinkle "Bickle bickle wittle tar... how i wonder what you are, up abuh the w........igh. LIKE A DIAMOND in the ky. bickle bickle wittle tar, how i wonder what you are"

  • She could probably be pretty easily potty-trained, but I'm not ready so we won't yet haha. Maybe this summer... we'll see.
  • She is very very social. She LOVES her cousins and friends.
  • She seems to almost prefer male family figures (Uncles/Opa/Grandpa) over females. Or moreso than Emilia did at this age anyway.
  • Her favorite foods are pasta, baked goods and fruit. She doesn't love vegetables usually. She's not a picky eater necessarily, but definitely has her preferences and will just wait for the next meal to have them haha.
  • She loves stuffed animals. She has quite a few in her bed with her that must be tucked around her "just so".
  • She sings and dances to Let it Go all the time, and calls all dresses "Let it go" because they remind her of dancing and Elsa.
  • She doesn't watch much TV as the kids often watch a movie while she naps, but if she were to pick a show to watch, it would 90% be Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
  • She looks me dead in the eye and smiles when I ask her not to do something and she does it. Fun lol
  • Naps still every day from 12-2ish. If we let her sleep much past 2 she has a hard time falling asleep and plays and keeps Emilia up at night.
  • Won't really be left in the nursery unless my mom is in there. We could work on it probably, but she'd much rather hang out in the foyer or try to go to Cornerstone with the big kids. She definitely feels like she's missing out.
  • She's pretty good at sharing and social things like that given she's never done daycare. Siblings, friends and cousins her own age will help with that I suppose. She is also learning to assert herself though. Typically it's pretty reasonable and understandable so far haha.
  • She had COVID between her last update blog and this one and it was very scary with such a high fever of 104F for a long time, difficulty breathing and refusing to take meds. (This was back in November)
  • She has unique dance moves she definitely didn't learn from us. She also seems to have pretty good pitch when she's singing considering she's just 2.

Ugh I just love her so much! She completes us!
