Happy New Year! On to the Next Chapter

Summer vacation is over and we are moving to another new stage of life! Starting tomorrow, I will only have one kid at home with me Mon-Fri! ONE!!! Unreal.

Here's what the last couple weeks of summer has looked like for us...

Dom walked into my room after the F1 Qualifiers in the Netherlands and said he was Lando Norris <3 <3.
Got his sneakers and helmet on, and built a "controller" (steering wheel) with Duplo.

SHERLOCK TURNED 9!! We celebrated with a trip to the swimming hole

We spent the day in Agassiz on August 27. One final family dinner before Gramma and Grandpa headed off to Europe for 33 days!

We visited a new (to us) park in Langley which was awesome! Very fun zipline swings and lots of different play structures. Something there for everyone!

Emilia drew our house. Eva is in the top floor singing "Let it Go" from her bed, I am cooking at the stove on the main floor and Sherlock is drooling haha.

Dom, Daddy and Eva came to watch Emilia do her horseback riding last week! We didn't realize there was a viewing area until then. Emilia has never been prouder.

We celebrated with a family dinner at White Spot! Pirate Paks for all three kids!

After bedtime I was throwing the ball for the dog and suddenly Dom came running outside like this. I was confused, but it was stinking adorable.

Last Tuesday we got a private tour of the school with my mom since I couldn't make it to the new student orientation day! D&E both got to see their classrooms, and we got to tour the new building as well.

Apparently it's the season now! Emilia and I are starting to work on our "rainbow walks", where we try to find items from nature in every colour of the rainbow.

We lost our orange and green on this walk.

We got something in every colour on this one! A bit of a stretch with some of them though haha. We're pretending the rock is blue...

Dom & Emilia had a sleepover for a few nights this last week. Eva kept trying to adopt Emilia's bed, much to Emilia's chagrin.

Mom watched the kids for us one night so Dave and I could have a date night! We had coupons to some breweries so that became the plan!

Lots of business chat. Big things are happening at Kimber Images. Stay tuned!

We went to Owen's 2nd birthday party on Saturday!

A free for all with the chocolate cake in the dump truck haha. Absolute disaster, but boy was that awesome!

Yesterday Emilia and I went looking for some Halloween craft supplies and she paused to paint a rock at Michaels :)

Phoebe and Uncle Scott & Aunty Ash came for the afternoon, dinner, and stayed late into the evening. They made some tortellini pasta dish and clearly Eva loved it. We had to stop her after her fourth helping.

Little stooges! All born within 3.5 weeks of each other.
March 24, April 6 and April 16!

This is Emilia's face most of the time right now as she anxiously readies herself for Kindergarten.

Story time with Aunty Ashleigh

This morning Kirstin, Wren and Nate came over for an early playdate. Dom & Emilia were loving on Nate so hard. He has been loving them lately too; lots of chatting!

Then we went to Tynehead with Scott, Ash, Phoebe and my parents. Thank goodness they came too, because we needed a good ratio of adults to kids/dogs!

This afternoon I got the nice surprise of a sleepy snuggle with Nate! Haven't had one of these in months!

Tomorrow we have the kids' first day of school, and then in the afternoon/evening I am going away to a work retreat for two nights. Talk about horrible timing!! I'll be at the Semiahmoo Resort just across the border for 2 nights on my own. The days will be full of meetings, but the nights will be quiet and just me! :) Excited, but also having some major guilt about leaving the kids (especially Emilia) this first week of major transition. And leaving Dave to deal with all of it too.
